on Train India 2014 Leadership Conclave

Mr G S Saini, VSM Director introduced the
program

Dr. PN Mishra, Director Institute of
Management studies, Indore, spoke about Indian Model of Leadership for
community preparedness in Disasters. He quoted Ramayana, Mahabharatha and Artha
Shastra in which Jambavantha, Krishna and Kautilya, how they have planned to
prevent disasters.
3.
Dr. PRS Chetan explained through PPT projection
on the growth of CD at Bangalore and need for Volunteer leaders to build
resilient society.
He
also explained the grand revival of CD during 2009-12, covered 35 divisions,
104 police stations, 4500 wardens enrolling. He wishes to add 10,000 volunteers
in next 6 months.

Dr. Vedaprakash Mishra Hon. ChancellorKIMS
deemed university, Karad, has told that constitution of India has put a condition
ofproviding safety and security to all. He suggested that the students after
their degree, ready to be a doctor, can transfer the knowledge to others, so
that more people are trained in safety and security. He also told that Natural
disaster cannot be avoided but after disaster losses can be controlled.

Mr.R R Verma, IPS DGCD, suggested that every
school should have curriculum of CD awareness and serve people in humanity. All
schools, colleges and government staff should have CD Training.
6.
Mr. Rifat Abdullah, special correspondent,
ETV Jammu & Kashmir, showed video on how Kashmiris suffered from flood and
helped by CD volunteers. Later he joined CD.
7.
Mr. Devasia, Asst. GM Bengaluru International
Airport, suggested that CD should be
integrated with industries CSR programs for community emergency preparedness

Mr. JitinSaxena, Sr. Manager (Training) from
Gail, future leaders to be developed by a Mentor taking a mentee in an open
discussion
9.
DrKiranBedi, IPS, told that govt. employees
to be trained in CD. Use parks or open spaces for CD meetings, the
infrastructure of CD should be minimum otherwise it will be another inefficient
govt. office.
10. Dr.
Suresh Chari, Director, NKP Salve institute of Medical Science & research
center, explained about the volunteer leaders should have perception and
Attitude. If perception is negative, action will also be negative. Perception
is what you take and attitude is what you act. A leader should come out of
comfort zone. Different skills should be adopted forProfessional success,
family success and social success. A good leader should adopt accordingly.
11. Mr.
G S Sainy, Director NCDC, told the participants that World CD has recognized
Indian Civil Defence, so logo should be changed according to International CD
logo with Blue triangle with orange circle. CD at Kerala state will be launched
soon and CD will be introduced at school
level like NCC
