Elections are One of the most important functions of our democracy, there is a hu8ge responsibility to ensure a smooth conduct of this gigantic task.
May 12th was the karnataka State Assembly elections held . the call for involving Karnataka civil defense came during the first week of April 2018.
The senior Officers at the Head Quarters had assigned each Division to enroll as many wardens as possible for this duty.
I Sunand Sampath was asked to Lead and coordinate our Divisions ( DIVISION 17) involvement in the election duty.
This being a voluntary duty , the task started from motivating more wardens to join calling each and every warden and noting them .
taking confirmations, attending meeting called by the Headquarters,
collating vital information of all the confirmed Wardens, , communicating with them on timely basis all information received from the Higher Authorities.
Ensuring a smoother flow of all duties require highest level of professionalism even in an environment of volunteering work.
19 wardens from Division 17 joined for the duty
KCD wardens were deployed in Bangalore ( 8 Divisions ) and surrounding Districts.

R T Nagar Police station
J C Nagar Police Station
Hebbala Police station
All ' Special Police Officers' had the duty to ensure a smooth flow of election work.
We assisted the Police while also assisted the general public at times when needed .
I had to ensure that I was coordinating with all the wardens of my division and also reporting to the coordinators from our Head quarters,
with a lot of Unpredictable nature of duty each of the 19 wardens showed great readiness to adhere to the duty requirements. a couple had to stay back at the booths for providing safety to the Booths, they did so even though they were having no prior information regarding thios.
the closure of the duty happened with a Debriefing from the wardens
some of the points that came out werte
this was an exciting duty , each of the warden enjoyed working on this.
even though there was a little bit of difficulty due to the unpredictability nature of this duty , all stood by the expectations.
we move ahead with a resoplve to take our trainings and build more capacity .
